Sep 30 (Wed) — Los Angeles → Calico → Red Rock Canyon → Las Vegas
Stay: Horseshoe · check-in from 4 PM

Logistics
- 8:15 AM target departure from the DTLA Airbnb; check out and return the parking fob to its mount before leaving
- All luggage remains in the car until Las Vegas. Conceal it before departure, keep valuables with the group and do not open the trunk at sightseeing stops
- Red Rock Canyon's Scenic Drive is open until 8:00 PM in September. No timed-entry reservation is required on Sep 30; the America the Beautiful pass covers the vehicle entrance fee when the pass holder and photo ID are present. Open or screenshot the digital/PDF pass before departure

- 8:15 AM Depart DTLA via I-15 north
- ~10:15–11:00 AM Breakfast at Peggy Sue's 50's Diner in Yermo — the original roadside diner opens at 7:00 AM and is eight minutes from Calico
- ~11:10 AM–12:15 PM Calico Ghost Town — restored silver-mining town; open daily 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
- ~12:15–3:20 PM Continue on I-15 toward Nevada; make only a quick fuel, water and restroom stop in Baker
- ~3:20–5:20 PM Red Rock Canyon — drive the one-way 13-mile Scenic Drive with short stops at the visitor center, Calico Hills and High Point Overlook; add the brief Petroglyph Wall walk only if time and temperature are comfortable
- ~5:20–6:00 PM Continue to Horseshoe Las Vegas and check in
If arrival at Red Rock slips past 5:30 PM, skip the trail and use only roadside viewpoints. Do not add Seven Magic Mountains; it would send the route back across the south side of Las Vegas.
Actual
- Peggy Sue's 50's Diner was skipped; it remained unvisited after the drive to Las Vegas.
