- All luggage remains in the car until Las Vegas. Conceal it before departure, keep valuables with the group and do not open the trunk at sightseeing stops
- Red Rock Canyon's Scenic Drive is open until **8:00 PM** in September. No timed-entry reservation is required on Sep 30; the [America the Beautiful pass](../bookings/activities/america-the-beautiful-pass-2026.md) covers the vehicle entrance fee when the pass holder and photo ID are present. Open or screenshot the digital/PDF pass before departure
- **~12:15–3:20 PM** Continue on I-15 toward Nevada; make only a quick fuel, water and restroom stop in Baker
- **~3:20–5:20 PM** **Red Rock Canyon** — drive the one-way 13-mile Scenic Drive with short stops at the visitor center, Calico Hills and High Point Overlook; add the brief Petroglyph Wall walk only if time and temperature are comfortable
- **~5:20–6:00 PM** Continue to Horseshoe Las Vegas and check in
If arrival at Red Rock slips past **5:30 PM**, skip the trail and use only roadside viewpoints. Do not add Seven Magic Mountains; it would send the route back across the south side of Las Vegas.
